Only A Matter of Time
Two warriors have come upon an elaborate clock that has somehow ended up on the rocks of a cool mountain stream. How did it get there? Did it fall unnoticed from the packhorse of a family of white settlers, or more likely, was it deliberately cast aside to lighten their load on the difficult journey into the wilderness?
This is one of my favorite paintings. The clock represents the invasion of the whites and a loss of traditions and a way of life for the Indians. And what does the future hold? I think the title says it all.
